A landmark design from Charles and Ray Eames, the molded plastic chairs consist of clean, simple forms sculpted to cradle the body. As their popularity grew, the shells were combined with various base designs to fit a wider range of environments. Herman Miller has reintroduced another option to the line, the wood dowel base. The maple dowel legs bring a softer aesthetic, while the crossed metal rods are distinctly Eames. The chair collection continues to grow with an infusion of new colors. Additionally, the chairs will now be produced locally in Michigan by Herman Miller, just as the vintage chairs were.
Seat and back are formed of a single, molded piece with arms and waterfall edges. Ebony dowel legs are stained ash wood with black glides. Maple and Walnut dowel legs have white glides.
