Based on an original drawing from David Shrigley called "Everything's Good"
Based in Glasgow, David Shrigley is an acclaimed contemporary artist whose seemingly amateurish, crude drawings, sculptures and installations are renowned worldwide for their surreal yet strangely poetic commentaries on life, death and virtually every absurdity in between. More recently he has begun to produce books, music and films as well, yet in each case the artist manages to make witty, wry and deadpan observations on a range of everyday subjects and situations. As TimeOut says, "It's like Kierkegaard, only with marker pens, poster paint and crappily-made sculpture. ”
Shrigley's work has been the subject of solo exhibitions at the Yerba Buena Center for Art, San Francisco; Kunsthaus, Zurich; Camden Arts Centre, London; UCLA Hammer Museum, Los Angeles; the CCS Museum and more.
