Beware of Imitations Poster

The Beware of Imitations poster is a reproduction of an advertisement produced for Herman Miller by the Eames Office in 1962. The original ad appeared on the back cover of Arts & Architecture magazine, edited at the time by the Eameses' Case Study collaborator John Entenza. Faithful in every detail to the original art, and reproduced as a two-color, screen-print on acid-free archival paper, the 33-by-27-inch poster is available framed or unframed.

Twenty years after perfecting a method for molding plywood in three-dimensional forms, Charles and Ray Eames experienced a dubious form of flattery: copies of their work began to appear. This prompted the Eames Office and Herman Miller to create the Beware of Imitations advertising campaign. Our reproduction of the iconic advertisement celebrates the undeniable quality and craftsmanship of Herman Miller product as seen through the inimitable creative lens of Charles and Ray Eames.
