David Shrigley - Problem In Toulouse

Details

At the heart of British artist David Shrigley’s practice are his combinations of awkward drawings and satirical commentaries highlighting the tragicomedy of ordinary situations. But he has often also collaborated with musicians. As part of the 2016 edition of the Printemps de septembre, he designed a tailor-made project for the Institut supérieur des arts de Toulouse by providing everything needed to organise a music festival: instruments, stage set, rehearsal studio, and posters, all designed by him. He also wrote down the words to 31 songs that the guest musicians could freely use. These texts are reproduced in this book with French translations, along with exhibition views and an interview.
