Will/Power features works by Papo Colo, Jimmie Durham, David Hammons, Hachivi Edgar Heap of Birds, Adrian Piper, and Aminah Brenda Lynn Robinson, commissioned by the Wexner Center especially for this exhibition. The six participating artists examine complex issues of identity, history, and difference from their perspectives as individuals and as members of African American, Hispanic American, and Native American communities.
This catalogue features essays by Sarah Rogers, Ann Bremner, Bart de Baere, Jane Farver, Joseph Nevaquaya, Claire Aguilar, and Coco Fusco, as well as an interview by Larry Abbott with Edgar Heap of Birds.
