Details

Image Stream presents eight film and video installations that provide unique interpretations of how moving images have invaded contemporary art and life. The featured works by artists Kutlug Ataman, Matthew Barney, Tacita Dean, Andrea Fraser, Pierre Huyghe, Neil Jordan, Donald Moffett, and Lorna Simpson make varied and inventive use of monitors, projections, narrative, and space.

This extensively illustrated catalogue features an overview essay by Image Stream curator Helen Molesworth, plus essays on each of the artists and works. In addition to Molesworth, the Wexner Center’s chief curator of exhibitions, the essayists are George Baker of the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA); Gregg Bordowitz, video/film maker, of the School of the Art Institute of Chicago; Aruna D’Souza of Binghamton University, State University of New York (SUNY); Bill Horrigan, curator of media arts at the Wexner Center; Bruce Jenkins of the Harvard Film Archive; and Hamza Walker of The Renaissance Society at The University of Chicago. The catalogue is published by the Wexner Center and distributed by D.A.P.
